Pink Bows

Betsey Nelson oil on canvas panel 7x5 $220
How much information for a small painting of a person? Always a question for me but more so in such a small painting. Less is best. It allows for the viewer to become more involved. Their story completes the painting process.

Painting with Joella I

Bill Fravel
Watercolor on paper 11" x 14" $350
This was my first time painting plein air with Joella Jean Mahoney, the legendary Arizona painter. We set up below Cathedral Rock, painted and talked about our dogs.

Red Heart Air Balloon

Robert Burridge - acrylic on paper 10x10 $275
This 10" x 10" acrylic on Fabriano paper is one of my Heart Air Balloon series. I do these first thing in the morning as my "Sketch and Warmups." I love typography. I could not help using the painting name as part of the texture.

It is a plein air painting painted on location in Sedona just before the Christmas. My goal is to finish plein air pieces outside without further studio editing.

Santa Fe

Betsey Nelson oil on canvas panel 5x7 $220
This was done from a photo just as an experiment to see how much information could be painted on a 5x7 panel(alot). Most of the painting was done within an hour. Finishes where added over the course of several days. Most times less is more and as you spend more time with your paintings you realize the strength will be in less not more information.

A Little Bird Told Me

Robert Burridge - Collage on canvas 5x5x1.5 $220
My miniature canvases are small mythical studies of quick, short stories.
I get in and I get out, using a minimal pallette of colors and strong designs. This daily process feeds me for my larger collages.

Sarah in the Landscape

Vince Fazio 9x12 Oil on canvas panal $140
A mix of palette knife and brushwork, this painting was inspired by a recent trip to some reflecting pools that form periodically on a rock outcropping near Cathedral Rock. I had planned to have my daughter play Narcissus at the edge of the water but there was too much wind to see reflections! So rather than a mythical theme we found a simpler 'moment in the landscape'.

On The Hill

Larisa Aukon
oil on canvas, 5" x 7", $400

This is a study for larger studio painting. The challenge was to show a sunny winter day with cool shadows and abundance of colors.
